Familiar features are still coming along for the ride, too: GeForce Experience, ShadowPlay, GameStream, Nvidia Optimus, and Battery Boost round out the general ecosystem. Accordingly, the 980M and 970M will get access to the same new tech that Nvidia touted in mid-September at the 980 and 970’s launch: Voxel Global Illumination, Dynamic Super Resolution, and Multi Frame Sampled Anti Aliasing will all become available through updated drivers. The new 900M series GPUs are based on Nvidia's second-generation Maxwell architecture (GM204), however, whereas the remaining 800M series GPUs are based on either GM107 or GM108. You’ll still see the Fermi-based 820M and the Maxwell-based 830M, 840M, GTX 850M, and GTX 860M pulling duty in the low- and mid-range for now. Though Nvidia's replaced the 880M and 870M with the 980M and 970M, the entire 800M series isn’t being scrapped just yet. Sound good? We've outlined all the details right here.
